45 minutes, 2025. Created during a residency at Hazira Theater for their Festival ‘The Autumn Ritual’, later it entered the theater’s permanent repertoire.
FLOOD is a performative, musical project that uses the structure of a live music concert. The project tries to place a magnifying glass on a group of four young men, musicians, the members of the band FLOOD (a fictional “boy band” that was established for the show). Through it I searched to create a symbolic apparatus of community that transforms daily life difficulties into a force-driven way of thought and ideology.
The project was developed through collaborative studio sessions with the performers, investigating the internal performative dynamics of the group while playing and performing the songs that were written for their fictional show. Structurally, the performance begins as a conventional music show; as the show progresses, the interactions between the band members escalate and disrupt the musical flow, causing the performance to unravel. This disintegration culminates when the band members unintentionally summon an ancestral figure who delivers a fascio-Darwinist message from the past. Through this intervention, the concert transforms the theater into a ritualistic space that tries to give response to their distress.
