Third-year final project, School of Visual Theater, 2023. Premiered at the ‘Marathon’ event.
This audio-visual stage work follows two children lost in a park at night. As they move through a disoriented landscape, fleeting glimpses of faces and gestures, the boundary between perception and imagination blur. The dimly lit space, punctuated by sudden flashes of light, evokes a persistent sense of instability and estrangement.
The text is drawn from conversations with my grandfather, a Professor of Chemistry who, in the later stages of dementia, became deeply absorbed in a research project initially focused on black holes. Over time, the project itself became a kind of black hole, gradually absorbing the fragments of his daily life.
In this work, the park becomes a metaphorical and theatrical site of cognitive disintegration. It stages a search for orientation, an effort to locate oneself in a space where memory, environment, and identity are constantly shifting.
